Timur Ibragimov

Civil journalist for Crimean Solidarity On 11 October 2017, he was detained after a search, charged with participating in the activities of a terrorist organisation cell, and on October 12, he was arrested. In February 2019 he was also accused of preparing for a violent seizure of power. In March, it became known that the initial accusation was reclassified as organising the activities of a terrorist organization. On 16 September 2020, he was sentenced to 17 years in a strict regime colony. Ibragimov is a third-degree visually impaired person, one of his eyes was replaced with an artificial one more than 15 years ago. His vision has significantly deteriorated in prison conditions, and he constantly needs eye drops. Timur's spouse reported that he lost 27 kilograms of weight after being transferred to the Ryazan colony from the pre-trial detention centre in Bashkortostan a year ago. Additionally, Ibragimov has been diagnosed with a new condition - gallstone disease. Ibragimov waited six months to be taken to a hospital for an ultrasound scan so that he could be examined.
