The following day, Davletkildin's wife was notified that a criminal case had been initiated against him for his participation in mass riots. On January 22, Davletkildin was taken into custody. On January 26, it was disclosed that Davletkildin was hospitalized following a beating. He was diagnosed with a fracture of the transverse process of the spine, as well as anemia. On February 7, it was reported that lawyer Garifulla Yaparov, who was representing Davletkildin's interests, received an order for recusal despite having asserted that he had entered into an agreement with Davletkildin's relatives and that the client was content with his services.
