He was arrested on 28 June 2022, in Novosibirsk and placed in a pre-trial detention centre. He has a number of chronic diseases, in November 2022 complained about the lack of proper medical care in the detention centre. On 12 May 2023, the case was filed with the St. Petersburg City Court. He has a number of chronic diseases, including cardiovascular diseases. In the detention facility, due to high stress, his health deteriorated. On one occasion, he had to receive emergency treatment for symptoms of myocardial infarction. At the same time, he is not provided with proper medical care on a regular basis, and he is not given the necessary medicines to maintain his health. On 21 May 2024, Maslov was sentenced to 14 years in a high-security prison.
