Former deputy of the City Duma in Glazov (Udmurtia, East of European Russia). In 2022 he had participated in the "Congress of People's Deputies of Russia" in Warsaw, after which he returned to Russia. According to unconfirmed reports, several reports were drawn against Yedigarev under the administrative article on discrediting the Armed Forces (Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences), with the third protocol remanded to the police by the court. The Tainiy Sovetnik telegram channel claims that Yedigarev had also been prosecuted for "committing fraudulent actions". In the winter of 2023, Yedigarev was beaten up by unknown people, as reported by "Vot Tak", but the Investigative Committee refused to open a criminal case. The information on the criminal case on public justification of terrorism dates to May 2023. It was based on three comments in Telegram - about the need to overthrow the government, blowing up of a railway train and the "FSB dynasty". During the detention Yedigarev received blows in the face, stomach and groin, and was thrown face down in the mud. He was then taken into custody. In November 2023, it was reported that a case was being opened against the politician for cooperation on a confidential basis with a foreign state or organisation - presumably because of the connection with the "Congress of People's Deputies of Russia". On 24 September 2024, Yedigarev was sentenced to three years' imprisonment in a general regime penal colony.
